Just received my 2010 issue of the Directory, is everything I expected it to be and more. Without doubt THE must-have reference book for any serious artist interested in the art show scene.
Art show lists can be found elsewhere, but this is the only source I know of where it's all in one book which lets you plan your season and concentrate on your art. I bought the 2004 issue and have won over 50 art show awards since, all found out about and planned for with my 'bible'. It's a dog-eared, written in ruin now, but still the book I go to to check a lot of details as I've scribbled updates all through it over the years.
I've been a full time artist for years and teach classes and workshops, but I remember the beginning and the 2004 Art Competition Guide (now called the 2010 Directory) by Artrillium House was most definitely the way into the art show scene for me from regional Queensland and the main reason my graphite drawings are now known throughout Australia and my art bought here and overseas.
My praise for this publication might seem over the top unless you are an artist trying to do it full time, make a living out of it and get some recognition so people will buy it. This book is gold dust.
